Please join The Next Swell staff, friends, family, local Oahu residents and organizations as we clean one of the busiest beach parks on the island! Ala Moana Beach Park is incredibly beautiful, though the amount of visitors it receives daily leads to a ton of trash and debris which can find its way into the ocean and nearby harbor. These beach cleanup events are a critical step in reducing man-made materials such as plastics, cigarette butts, and other trash from being introduced to our maritime environments and marine life that live in coastal waters.
On Saturday, December 3rd, The Next Swell will be hosting a beach cleanup event from 9:00am to 11:00am. We’ll be meeting on the Ewa side of the park (West side) near the sand volleyball courts, adjacent to Kewalo Harbor, just look for our table setup! We will provide trash bags and have water to refill your water bottles, and be on hand to answer any questions you might have about marine conservation. Please bring your own gloves, wear comfortable shoes, and a water bottle to stay hydrated!
